Keep it stock for atleast 5000 miles, preferably 10k miles. I have the same engine and I didn't get the 5.0 for the same reason. To get that engine I had to go up about $8,000 because of the packages the dealer had on site. I had the old 5.4 v8 and this engine has do much more power. The only complete air intake I've seen is the volant but it doesn't seem to have a higher air flow than stock. As for exhaust, true dual X-pipe with your choice of muffler. For aesthetic purposes, I'm going to level mine because I enjoy the way a leveled truck feesl when you drive one.

Wait a couple months and more stuff will come out as this engine gets more popular

Best upgrade I could recommend is the ecoboost option.

Anyways, I'm wondering about things like cold air intake. K&N doesn't make one for my model and engine size yet but they boast a bolt on kit that requires no modification to the vehicle. Anyone know of another cold air intake they would recommend? From what I read a cold air intake is going to increase fuel economy by up to 2mpg and add about 10hp. Sounds like a win win to me, are there any drawbacks to a cold air intake?
If you have no need for the 5.0 then why attempt to wring more power from it? 10hp that you will NEVER feel or see unless a dyno was done. If you watch how you get on the gas pedal you can gain even more than 2mpg for FREE.

I have the 3.7. I installed a roush intake. My only reason for getting it was for sound, I did not expect a power increase. But it does have noticabley more throttle response and power off the line.

I've been waiting for someone to say whether this roush intake actually does increase power. Is it worth the money though?

There are multiple posts / threads / comments on the Rousch / 3.7 combo.

Pros
-Adds bottom and midrange torque
-Sounds awesome
-Clean installation
-Quasi Ford Approved

Cons
-Price
-No apparent gain on top end (but no loss either)

anyone have problems after getting it tuned with 5star?

With the cold air intake, don't you have to reprogram, for air to fuel ratio?

I don't have to answer to you, I can do what I want so don't worry about it, go to your 5.0 thread if this bothers you. Not really sure why it does though, obviously if there are aftermarket products for the 3.7L then I'm not the only person thinking about it so quit acting like I'm an idiot or something. If you don't understand why I opted for the 3.7L then it's fine but criticizing something you do t understand is ignorance. I made this thread to discuss possible upgrades, not to explain to people why I dont have a 5.0L

This is interesting cause I don't have a tuner. Can anyone verify if having a tuner/CAI is optimal for both products?

Honestly no it is not worth the money. its just a filter and box. I only paid about half because I found one used on this forum. Check out airraid they have basically the same thing and its about $100 cheaper.
