Thanks for the suggestions fellas. I've tried pulling it out and that thing won't bugde. Maybe if I cut the bolt head off and get the coil out of the way maybe it will come out then. I'm scared to tug on it to hard being it's in a plastic valve cover but ive been told by several people that the little gold piece that my bolt is stuck in does come out. I'm just very nervous about messing with it to much. Bruce i talked about this over at ssi's forum a while back. Don't know if you remember or even saw it but yea its been in there a while now and that plug needs to be changed. I changed the rest of them today and again I tugged on the stuck one a little with no luck.

After you cut the bolt head off and get the COP out of the way, you could put another bolt in the brass insert and pull it out, maybe. You might have to take the Dremel and grind just a bit around the top, just enough to get the plastic out of the way and then pull it out. I don't remember the post, but at my age who knows. Starting to get more that way every day. I usually just go to the 'new unread posts' and have found out that sometimes it doesn't bring them all up. You have to go from section to section to see if it missed any. You can build up the plastic that you have to cut away with JB as long as you don't cut all the way thru it. JB may be stronger than the original.

I'm pretty sure I won't be able to get another bolt in the brass insert without getting it out of the valve cover first. Maybe putting vice grips on the threads of the cut bolt will be enough to get the whole thing out. How it's looked this far I figure I'm gonna have to put the brass piece in a vice to get the old bolt out.

Post pictures as U do it. The screw is cross threaded into the insert puobably and that is turning.

I will. When it happened I was tightening the bolt back down and I didn't get it very tight at all when the brass piece started turning. I'm tempted to just get a whole new valve cover but I hate to have to go through all that. Hopefully I will be able to get it out.

I am no mechanic. Actually a plumber. I have ran into similar situations with bolts turning on me. One example is we have Bradley sinks that have those similar brass inserts into the granite like material. They sometimes have started to turn on me. I have real carefully taken some locktite and put it around the outside of the insert. Being real careful not to get on the bolt threads. It has worked well for me to get the bolt out.

Is this an option. I have changed my plugs and can't remember the actual setup of these.

The insert can't come out until the cop is off the top of it. Once the head is gone the cop will wiggle free and then you can get the insert out of its spot. Once it is out U can grip it and remove the threaded piece, run a metric tap down the threads to fix them & glue it back in with JB weld

That's exactly what I plan on doing papa tiger. May try the loctite idea as well

Most other glues will not work with automotive plastics well. It is impervious to automotive liquids. High temp silicone also works well but you are trying to lock the insert into place not seal for a leak. JB is your best bet to do this if you give it a day to set up tight. Make sure your COP is fully down into place so you don't pull the insert back loose when you install the fastener. A gap could pull it outward on you. Any reason you may need to shim it some thousands of an inch.
