This thread will probably get lost amongst a billion ecoboost fans ..i think there should be strictly a eco fourm...but I'll see what info I can get
bought a 2012 5.0 f150 ...only performance mod so far is delete resonators and cherry bomb muffler with Duels out the back corners... I looking for some bolts of to get... Before or if I ever get a super charger... If we're talking CAI's I refuse to put another oiled one in.... I'll pay a little more and replace a dry one... Screwing sensors up and stuff I'll never recommend oiled again... Just my opinion... I already have a 6" lift and 35" nittos... Any thoughts on headers or throttle body.. Not those spacers that are basically a paper weight but a BBK 90mm costs
500+$$$... or anything I'm not aware of??

I dont think anyone has tried this, but maybe you could twin turbo charge it, you know, like the EcoBoost.

The throttle body is for top end power and really would be a waste without the boss intake which will also gain you more top end but you might lose some bottom end power which is what you need with a lift. If you get headers you should redo your entire exhaust. Getting an intake won't really help your low end either IMO but a tuner can help you in the entire rpm range.

Want more off the line power? Do you have 4.10 gears yet, if not you could get those.

A tuner will add power but mostly it will make you feel more power because of the way they manipulate the throttle and transmission. It's still probably your best bang for buck though.

I agree that throttlebody spaces on something that is non-TBI or carb is just a paper weight.

I think I have 3.55 gears.. Better bottom end would be nice it's kinda sluggish to get going.. The tb is to expensive to just "try out"... And intake I've read on here is a waste with these new engines they get more than enough flow stock.. Programmer seems to be the next item to get cause I really don't want to redesign the exhaust system ...I have a 4 year bumper to bumper 100k warranty and I don't want to screw that up there even covering the lift and everything ..is SCT still the programmer to buy for these fords or is someone better out there , there are so many to choose from.. Any kind that doesn't leave a footprint would be a good idea

Remove low power engine and install high power v6 Ecoboost. Done.


Sorry had to!! J/k.............. the 3.55s are really hurting you especially with a 35" tire. If i were in your shoes id install 4.10s. Youd notice quite a difference in off the line power going from 3.55s to 4.10s.

I have the air raid dry airbox on mine. I love it. Is do that then have it tuned.

4.56's and a 5 star,jlp,ect SCT tune..... 4.10swont be a significant improvement. You will be good with 35's. Don't waste your money on intakes and exhaust as stock is not restrictive and flows plenty with this motor. those 2 mods will make a huge improvement short of a supercharger.
