I'd look for a 3.73 or 4.10 (if highway mpg is not important) geared F250 for your needs.
This has 3.73's in it with the locking axle, so I'm thinking this is a good ratio to be looking for correct?

Yes, this will help get it moving a bit quicker than the higher ratios. IMO the 3.73 is a great all around truck gear for city/highway/towing/offroad

Everyone stopped talking here? Did I break some rule I'm unaware of? I removed what I think was the offending post.

Thought you got good responses. What else do you need?

father in law has a 350 reg cab with the 6.2. Works great and tows the cattle hauler loaded just fine. Not as heavy as the crew cab though.

Buddy has Scab 350 with 8' box, and the 5.4L. It works well also, but the 6.2 has more power.

I had a 2010 F350 King Ranch Diesel and lived in an RV park for a couple of years. All we did was talk RVs and trucks. Loved the King Ranch, all the bells and whistles, comfortable place to spend time. I had the diesel to pull my huge fifth wheel but met many RVer with the 6.2 who loved it. Build like an Ox, fewer problems than the diesel and did the same job with way lower maintenance costs. I also used to plow in northern BC with a 6.0 Chevy and would rather plow with the gas than the diesel (I can't quantify why).

I'm a long way from retirement but loved the tailgate step and used it all the time.

My opinion: you'll love the truck for what you want to use it for.

Thanks, for all the responses. It appears the dealer thinks his truck is made out of gold and mine is made out of sh__! So I told him to keep it. Looks like I'll have to trade mine in for a new one while i can still get X-plan pricing. At least now I know what to look for.

Thanks again,

Bill

The 6.2 is a good all around motor. I've driven my Dads 250 with the 6.2 a lot, he has around 150,000 miles on his with minimal issues. The only thing I don't like about it is how it downshifts a lot for towing, which is the reason I got a max tow EB instead of an F250 6.2. I'm sure you'd be very happy with it though.
