Default 2011 Ecoboost - Plugs and Coils

I have a long history or having to take my truck in. The latest event was that plugs and coils 5 & 6 were replaced. This means that all 6 have been replaced. Has anyone else had all of theirs replaced, too?

Ford picked up part of the bill again - hopefully this will be the last time. Makes me wish they would have just replaced them all in the beginning when it was all still under warranty.

Please let me know how it goes with the dealer, mister_d. I'll be here to help if you have any questions or need assistance beyond the dealership.

At 65,000, I am on my third (actually 4th) set. The originals were toast at 40K, the second set started missing on cyl 4 at 60K and bought a set for the dealer to install. They over torqued and ruined them as 3 cylinders were missing after, so I bought a fourth set and did them myself.
I just don't understand why anyone would replace just one plug unless it was damaged during installation. When one goes bad, the rest are soon to follow.

I also just had my 2011 EB with just over 50,000 into the dealer because of a check engine light. They replaced all 6 spark plugs and all coil boots which cost $320.

Please tell me you didn't pay that bill? That is absurd to be charging for plugs and the coil boots.

Plugs can be bought for about $4-$5 each. Call it $35 bucks total
Boots are $1.52 each
The entire job can be done in an hour or less by any competent person

Now if they replaced an actual coil or two (the electronic part), then yes I could see a higher bill. But over $300 for just plugs and the boots? OUCH!

Coil boots are closer to $25.00 each and come with the plug boot.
$1.52 is just the plug boot.

Parts and an hour labor and I bet your pretty close to $320.00

Thanks, Brittany. The dealer got it taken care of. I had to wait an extra day because they were out of the coils but they gave me a loaner to use.

This was our first new car and unfortunately has us feeling like it'll be our last Ford.

I'm glad the dealer took care of you, and provided the loaner to accommodate the extra day they needed. I would like to document your feedback and do what I can to help alleviate the feeling of this being your last Ford.

Please send me a private message with your full name, VIN, best daytime phone number, servicing dealer, and any comments you would like to include in your feedback, vehicle, dealership, or otherwise; I'll get the story straight for internal review.
