These engines are really picky about gas as well. Two tanks at I filled up at the Phillips 66 just around the corner and barely got 15 mpg on that tank...the only time ive filled up from that station. Crap gas there and my truck showed it. This current tank I filled up at a new Thorntons station and with just a quarter tank left I'm getting just under 18 mpg...same driving conditions and everything. Gonna fill up at that Thorntons again today and see if it continues.

On That Note. On 3 Road trips recently where we split up the driving we saw no difference in mileage.

Short trips also kill mpg. A cai will not materially improve your mpg. If you drive subdued and the engine is fully warmed up and you are still at 11 something else is awry. Do you have a lift or bigger tires?

And joe yes I know what is asked HERE but in a related thread op gave more info on his problem -hence my response.

I use fuel from high traffic exxon, shell or chevron only. I've used only 93 oct since my first fill up.

Truck is stock as was off the lot with the exception of the hid , backflip cs, and n-fab bars.
Factory 20's , 3.73 , heavy tow package , 4x4.
I spoke with a different person at the dealership this morning (new service manager) seems like hes a bit alarmed booked the truck in for mid of next week to go threw it so we will see if its something faulty like they are guessing. the first 2 visits were basicly service with the we dont care and the mileage is what the mileage is story.

Im going to hold off on untill i get it back and get another 6-8 tanks threw it figure that will take a week or so to get the numbers. The only reason for all the inquiries regarding intakes on these motors is i know from experiance with my chev i did get a noticable gain in mileage on it in town and highway.

On that note ... i do have to say i always got better mileage driving in the states.... im jealous of the gas.

I too was contemplating heartthrob exhaust for mileage but cannot find great data. I use non ethanol gas. I get significantly better mileage with it but it is more expensive. If I baby it and drive about 68 mph will get 21.5. Use ethanol free app on iphone to find it.

I would also guess you see worse mileage than average using it as a work truck. Probably always has tools and gear loading down your rig.

I have heartthrob and don't think there is much MPG gain to speak of. Less than 1mpg if anything.

You have an amazing truck drive it and enjoy
Plenty of dyno #'s on here from members stating power gains.....i guess everyone on this forum is a lier.........seriously
