For those that didn't catch it in other forums and threads, this was mine, which was ultimately "fixed" by replacing 2 of the timing phasers.... This noise started at only 500 miles on the odometer.

That was one of the more mild rattles. But no idea why they can't hear it. I have one other dealer to try, then im giving corporate a call.

The issues with my truck has already stopped 2 people i work with from buying a ford.

Very big mistake buying this truck.

Apparently this is normal.
So they "fixed it" once already? Did they replace all four phasers or just the chain?

Just the chain, under a check engine for bad fuel mixture and fuel in the oil. They refused to do the phasers at that time, even though i complained about the ratlle that time.

Hum. I would have someone else record after a long sit time. Maybe the video will be better? I would also take it to another dealership and see if they will help.

I tried to prop my phone up under the hood one time, the movement of the truck starting knocked it over, and it slid down between the fender and inner wall. Took 45 minutes to get it out.

Sorry you're dealing with this issue again man. My truck only seems to do it once every couple of months.

Duct tape or a buddy are a few options.

Just lay it on top of the core support. Speaker will work fine even though there will be no image. This has been said before, but the dealer is probably driving the truck into the service bay before they try listening for the noise. Leave the truck overnight but take the keys with you. In the morning, have the service manager and the tech stand outside the truck when you start it. They'll hear the noise and then qualify you for the repair. You'll need to fight with them over the labor to replace the phasers. Honestly, they should be eating the labor because this is a second repair attempt.
