They replaced the tensioner and chain, right? Not that they changed there minds at the last moment and didn't install the tensioner or did the cam phaser instead. They had to tear into my engine twice, but my dealer was able to talk corporate into covering the second repair. If my truck sits for more than a couple of days I still get a good rattle, but they didn't replace my tensioner. My dealer says that he'll cover it under the repair warranty.

So what happens next? I presume you've been in touch with the corporate rep?

The paperwork I have says they changed all tensioners, chains and guides. I left a message with the dealers service manager. He's supposed to call me monday. Not sure what I'm doing next. I'm looking at a 2012 Tacoma 4x4 trd. If they don't fix this I'm just going to trade my f150 for the Toyota and never buy a ford product again. This truck has been in the shop 4 times and it's only got 73000miles on it!!!

Yea, mine has been in even more times than that and I've got 90k on it. Currently have a short in the dome lights that keeps on blowing fuses and the left headlight sometimes works, sometimes it doesn't. I'm on board with you. I don't know if I'll be buying another one.

Have you heard back from your service manager, trippen1999? I'd like to go ahead and arrange for a follow-up call from your regional customer service manager as well; send me a PM with a verification of your best daytime contact number and I'll make it happen.

I'm sorry for bragging. I hope you get some better luck soon.

Crystal is there a number i can call you at please? my truck is supposed to go in next week. but i have already had my vacuum pump replaced and trippin has had is chains replaced. I think it could the rod knock or something.... Most of the time the mechanic can't figure it out especially because its hard for it replicate unless its been sitting. Mine is really starting to tick now though so i don't think its going to be hard to trace. I do think its internal.

Hi murdr,

I don't have the ability to make or receive calls, but if you'd like to speak with someone about this, you can give my colleagues at the Customer Relationship Center a call at 1-800-392-3673. I'd be happy to communicate with you via PM as well; just send me a message with your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and servicing dealership. I'll see what I can do to help.

Ok, going to try this again. I was supposed to bring my truck back to dealer today but my wife had to go to the ER. I'm bringing it in the morning. The dealer said they are going to pick up the tab for my rental car this time. Truck rattles almost every time I start it after it sits overnight even after the chains and tensioners were changed. Ford customer service has been in touch with me and they are doing a pretty good job. Stay tuned for updates guys!
