2011 Ford F150 Ecoboost Failure
What a nice sound to hear on a beautiful Sunday morning.
But Ford refuses to do anything!

Please follow me on Twitter @fordfAILURES and on Youtube here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpp...qwnjQ8kxOFTCFw as I document the issues with the timing chain and the failure of Ford to do anything to resolve the issue.

You said your dealer wouldn't do anything...what does that mean exactly? Did they check to see if the timing was off? Or could they not replicate the noise?
My thoughts are hpfps are failing, leaking fuel into the crankcase increasing timing chain wear to the point it needs replacing. But then they are not replacing the hpfp so it just happens again.
Course I don't have mine back yet so I can't say if the noise is gone or not, tomorrow morning probably

They have checked the timing and it is out but not enough to fix it. They claim they have never hear the sound which seems really astounding to me as you can clearly see that the truck is making the noise practically on a daily basis.

That would point me more towards the hpfp if what my dealer did is correct. They listened to it rattle and isolated the noise coming from the drivers side valve cover...hpfp area. Not the front of the engine where the timing chain is. You would be able to investigate this yourself. Open the hood and have someone start the truck with your hand on the hpfp and head right in the engine bay. See if you can tell if its coming from the top or front of the engine.

I will try this most likely on the weekend. Thanks for the tip!

Twice in One Day!!!!!!!!!!
So I started it up this afternoon at 4:28 pm and it did it again. Outside temperature 22 Celsius. It also did it this morning at 6:07 am.
I am usually the only one around when I start it up but I will try to get my wife's help on the weekend so I can start it with the hood up.

Let's get the resonant sound under control, FORD FAILS. Please send the odometer reading; I'll assess the next step.
