Rattle came back yesterday, four days after the replacement. Dealership and I both confirmed the rattle this morning, service and shop manager asked ford hotline about this problem.
Wow.... Well. You're definitely not alone... There are several others here who've had the exact same issue. Fixed, and it came back quickly.

Some have had their engines replaced...

Well we will see what happens tomorrow???? I am going to sleep on it.

I suspect that having an official piece of paper from FORD stating that my engine will be fine and no damage will occur might be worth something!

You'd hope so... I don't believe this doesn't cause damage. We know it's a precursor for bad things that happen to these motors. The proof is all over this thread and many others.

Good luck in your battle... The more info we share the better.

Still in the shop.... So far they have done.
  • Timing Chain TSB
  • CAC TSB (new deflector and CAT)
  • New alternator
  • New spark plugs
  • New rear window assembly

They were test driving it yesterday to see how it was running but I haven't heard back yet. I hope to have it back Monday maybe.

No the slider worked fine, it was the rear-defrost stopped working. The light on the dash wouldn't come on and the window would never defrost. They said it was a broken circuit within the window.

I've read that water leaks in from the window seals and toasts the connections.

ESP is paying for that. It's $840 retail for the window + labour. So my ESP has almost paid for itself already.

Nope... Last was they had done the chain TSB, and also replaced the alternator and the catalytic converter. He thought fixing the cat might fix it, but they wanted to have the foreman drive the truck to his house overnight for a final test. That was Thursday. I've heard nothing yesterday or today.

I own a travel trailer now... I need my truck lol.

We got a Jayco 29QBH. Pretty excited about it. I just hope my truck is going to be ready to pull it without breaking. Seeing everyone get their chains fixed and the problem coming right back isn't very encouraging.
