Default 2011 ecoboost motor issue

Hey guys was looking for some input. So yesterday i was at a stoplight and when the light turned green i gave the truck half throttle on take off. Next thing i know 5 feet after my rear drive shaft had snapped. Pulled over got out of the truck and there was coolant and motor oil everywhere. Havent gotten a chance to look at the truck yet but am super worried and could use some input. Thanks! 2011 f150 3.5 ecoboost 71k. No tune intake and straight pipe only.

Well, the snapped driveshaft is likely the cause of your motor issue. I'm guessing the shaft snapped and you over-revved the engine. Yikes.

Good luck.

I doubt it. The rev limiter would have saved it. However, if the engine locked up tight then the shaft could have snapped if it stopped fast enough and there was sufficient traction. Due to the fluid loss, I'm going to guess that the engine gained a new window.

Be kind and hope for goodwill warranty that will save you a few bucks, but looks like you will have a hefty bill. Start searching for used engines
