Default 2011 Ecoboost with 60k....just encounter the studder....

I got to 60k miles with never having the dreaded shuddering issue but now its here and the truck is out of warranty. Is there any one thing you guys would try 1st since the truck made it this long? I would like to avoid the dealer since my warranty just ran out. I tried the pcm reset and that didn't work. I thought it was odd it just started with zero issues up to this point. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

I just changed the spark plugs. They were all gapped between 39-41. The one closest to the grill on the passenger side was the worst and also had the most carbon tracking on the porcelain. Second worst was the closest to the firewall on the driver's side. It had a little carbon tracking. It seemed to run a lot better and didn't studder in the short drive I took. Hopefully that fixed it. Thanks for the help!!

I believe they put new plugs in my old truck and gapped the to .035" to eliminate my shudder and it worked great

All the new plugs were gapped between .29-.30.

You will want to change the plug boots too if there was carbon tracking. Make sure you use dielectric grease too.

Those plugs were done. Welcome to the life of owning a boosted motor...you will get good at spark plug changes. This just doesn't happen on just Ecoboosts...it's all turbocharged motors that are not a diesel
