Default 2011 ecoboost

Noob here fellas but I have been thinking of getting a ecoboost so I put a plug in a friend of mines ear that is a salesman and a week or so later he text to say he found a 11 screw ecoboost xlt with 68500 with everything in a truck im looking for but I has the shudder when coming to a stop and on take off and when the trans gets up to opertaing temp it has a shudder if i hold gas and brake creeping at 1400-1600 rpm I took it back to him and he took it to the dealership they did a reflash for the issue they said it was fixed i drove it a block and duplicated the problem for them so they could feel what i was feeling they had it all day yesterday and said it had a miss and was going to have it back today the question I have is should I be scared to purchase this pickup after the issues are fixed?

Get a huge discount and when you get home change and gap the plugs. I'm at 62k modded miles with no issues. Good luck.

Tell them to discount it deep, put in new plugs, a tune, and an intercooler and you might be OK. The shudder is partly from the lube on the driveshaft...theres a TSB for it and it took care of the downshift shudder and clunk on stopping, accelerating. I still have the shudder when accelerating from a stop that gets worse with a load on...they can change the drive shaft angle but it could just move the shudder to another point of time in the drive cycle. I wouldn't recommend having them touch that.

My truck is at 68,000 miles and I have not had any catastrophic failures yet due to the condensation, etc...my truck only had it happen 2-3 times so hopefully all is good. I plan on replacing my intercooler ASAP and have Brisk plugs on the way. If a good coil is ever released those will be next.

Like others have said, SP-534's gapped @.030" and shudder should disappear.

I still would not touch a 2011 Ecoboost, 2012+ yes.

Probably because it's the first year production for that engine. I haven't had any issues with mine and I bought it with 13,000 miles on it and it now has 49,000 miles on it.

I just sold my 12, I don't have any faith in the longevity of the Ecoboost. If we are taking a poll I vote no. Strong motor, needs a few more years on the market to regain my trust.

2 cents...

Don't buy that truck you have no guarantees they will fix it. You are buying someone else's lemon IMO.

I was about to offer you my '11 with 33k miles that runs like a champ for that until I looked up my blue book value. Man, these trucks hold their value! Where are you located?
