LTNBOLT - Joe, Is that a syn-blend or conventional oil? My first oil change was Pennzoil blend 5W20.
Gear/dif' lube and grease ... That's different.

Everything that I owned up until my 2000 Lightning always had Pennzoil conventional oil in it and it never let me down.
We are talking 79 Lil Red Express, 83 & 85 Mustang GT, 87 Grand National, 89 Shelby Dakota and 93 Z28. The Express and Dakota had over 100,000 miles and the GN had 75,000 before being sold. They all were flogged regularly. The trucks more than others because they were mine. The others belonged to my wife sort of

Since most oil companies closed their packaging plant's year's ago you really don't know what your getting. Oil is blended per companies specs and packaged at large independent plant's. These plant's may package for many different brand's and you're at the mercy of the worker's and QA people to get it right.

Chris's FX4 - Here's mine Joe: < url >
What's interesting to me is the amount of anti-wear, detergent additive #s for the Pennzoil conventional compared to your Valvoline syn' but then you've got 2,500 more miles on your interval.
Regarding my viscosity that BlackStone commented was a "bit thin for a 5W30" (which is conventional) ... Compares favorably to your 5W20 syn'. *As it thought.
THANKS! for sharing.

I went back and looked at some of the reports from 2002 F150 4.6, which I also ran Valvoline SynPower 5w20 in but would change it every 3,000 miles. The viscosity levels on them were just about the same as the report for my 5.0L as was the flashpoint and the amount of additives.
