2011 5.0L Coolant Leak
#121
Just putting this out there, have not read the whole thread, since my tank was replaced. The leak at the t connector I had too recently and is easily fixed by changing out the O ring that's inside. It's a Ford part it's updated in design. Costs 10$. Easy fix. Dealer wanted 460 including replacement hose and t connector.

Part number.
Yes I still have the package, saved it to help someone else some day. However it is in the truck and has been at the dealers for a week, I will get it when I can get it back.

Google ford part number 8590
Now the images all show a squared off o ring like the original one was, however the one I got was round like a typical o ring. The fit was much better. So it is possible that Ford has updated it.
I will verify with the packaging next week.

So, I now have this problem too, and called the local dealer to get a quote for repair...
$475 for the tank, hose, and flush.
The part was still $280, but their computer is only saying .6 hours for labor (plus the flush).
That was much less than I was expecting, and worth it, to me, to have new parts put in the truck. I'm not against doing a repair, however, in the future.

This is such an easy fix, I barely do any of my own truck work. But for $50 and putting a milk jug below the coolant drain, cutting the hose, using a screwdriver to tighten the hose clamps, then pouring the 1 gal of drained coolant back into the tank. easiest $425 saved in my life!
