2011 - 5.0 p0012 & p0014
Moving this from the incorrect section I had previously posted in.
Hey everyone,
I have a 2011 f150 5.0 screw. I have had these codes for a while now. And thought I had them corrected by replacing both VCT solenoids on the drivers side bank which was a huge pain, but if anyone needs information you can feel free to pm me.
Any other ideas of what could case these codes in this motor? I am at wits end here.
Thanks in advance
Update:
No resolution yet. I reached out to 5star tuning to see if they could tune out the VCT function or maybe clean it up some to where the check engine lights wouldnt keep coming back. He indicated that he thought there may be a TSB out from Ford about this issue. I have reached out to my local Ford dealer but have not heard anything back from them yet. I am going to make sure with Ford that the ECU software is fully up to date when I hear back from them, and then maybe get them do do the timing chain and make sure all the timing is correct and then go ahead and get it tuned by 5star.
As far as symptoms...I can usually tell right before the check engine light is about to come on. It almost bogs down if i hit the gas kind of hard, even if it does drop a gear or two, i can tell the cams didnt move to the right timing because there is a lack of power.
Is this inline with what youre seeing/feeling?
