2011 5.0 acceleration squeal

Green Goodness
Has anyone else noticed if they go slower than the speedo says? I double checked my speedo with my GPS and I actually go about 2 mph slower than indicated. I have the squeel, which got louder with a K&N drop in, so it leads me to believe its something with the throttle blade. I wonder if it has anything to do with my speedo being off, what I mean is that its not calibrated correctly for the speed I am actually driving, so its causing the throttle blade to be out of position...
I dunno. Its so DAMNED annoying, especially because it happens at 60 - 65mph with cruise control on...

Squeal While Accelerating on new 2011 F-150
I've just noticed this exact same problem on my new 2011 Lariat while driving with the windows down. The noise is unnoticable with the windows up and radio on. However, while driving recently since the weather has cooled off I notice it around 1700 to 2300 rpms during moderate driving and right before the transmission shifts gears. May be normal but is very annonying. Met the general manager this morning and he noticed it as well on the drive along. The "butterfly valve" theory seems to make the most sense and is possibly the culprit but we are researching and investigating it. Somewhat relieved to read this post b/c it may be a normal, although annoying, sound in the new 5.0 engine. Hope Ford comes out with a correction in the near future.

Squeal While Accelerating on new 2011 F-150
I am having the same problem that everyone here is describing, with my 2011 F150 Lariat 5.0 V8. This squeal only happens under load (not in neutral) while driving. It happens the most when accelerating or maintaining a constant speed going uphill. Although it does happen when accelerating on level ground as well. It only happens in the lower RPM range of say 1,500 to 2,220 rpm. I can easily stop the noise by backing off on the gas or giving it more gas. Does anybody know if Ford is doing something about this? I am not concerned as far as reliability goes, but the noise is annoying as heck. Like other people have stated, you can only here it with the window down or if the radio is off. I know its not me because I have driven by a friends house and he could hear the squeal from his front porch!

Mine is also making a weird sound at right around the same rpm as the rest of you. My sound is more of a low pulse rumble and can also be felt. I think it is more of a exhaust harmonic vibration. You can really hear and feel it at about 1700/1800 rpm and doing 65 mph. The dealer will look at it when i take it in for the first oil change. What is really weird is that it only does it when the outside temp is warm like 80+ anything less it will not make that rumble.

Hey guys.. Im a Ford Tech and drive a 2011 Fx4 F150 with the 5.0, I also have the high pitch squeal noise and mine just started about 2 weeks ago, I messed with it a little bit last week but couldnt really pinpoint where it was coming from. I soon as I get time I will find the damn noise and let you guys know! I was thinking maybe it was my waterpump because I just replaced it 3 weeks ago and the truck never made the noise before but doubt its the pump. 18k miles so far.

11TUXFX4. Nice to have a Ford tech looking into this noise. I do appreciate it. I have a friend at Ford who is an engineer and he is asking around for me to see if he can find anything out. If he finds something out I will post it.
