Default '12 ecoboost break in period?

I had a 2011 FX4 Ecoboost for 8 months- 18,000 miles. I was involved in an accident that totaled that truck. Yesterday I picked up a brand new 2012 Ecoboost FX4. The '12 feels kinda sluggish compared to how my '11 drove. Is there a break in period or transmission "learn" period? I did have the dealer install an AFE Stage 2 intake and AFE exhaust.... The '11 was stock. Input on why it may be sluggish?

I also had a 2011 EB and now have a 2012. Mine were both stock and power seems the same, although the trans does shift a little different then the 2011. I think maybe the 2012 has a beefier torque converter because some had failures in the 2011's. I'm just speculating on the upgraded torque converter but I do feel a difference in shifting but I only have 500 miles on my new EB.

That's quite possibly it. Seems to shift a bit different. It currently has 120 miles so I'll just wait and see

Adaptive learning by the truck's computer is probably what you're experiencing. Give it a few hundred more miles and it should settle in to what you were used to. At least that's what Ford would say.

Ya I'd take it in and see if you have the most current tune or flash and see if that helps any. Or it could just be your 11 was getting nice and broken in and that will make it a little faster or so some people were debating about in one of the custom tune threads
