Obvious to you it is unsafe to drive until they fix it ? It may need a re-flash or ECU reset or perhaps replacement of a major due to damage in the wiring or other connections. The way water does its work at the vacuum pump it may have moisture thru-out and not knowing your climate a warm building may be helpful. Moisture finding its way will freeze and create the rock hard pedal you describe in many who experience it and of course the loss of Vacuum help.

I can hear it at times when stopping and when shifting when the truck is cold. A few times I have heard it when shifted into park. Seems like it is getting worse but I know if I take it to the dealer it will stop.

Also front speakers at times sound distorted like they are blown.

During the summer when it gets over 93 degrees the radiator fans come on and they sound like a plane taking off. If I go through a drive through I have to shut engine off so I can hear.

My first EB was a 2011 supercab 2 wheel drive. Traded it in at 85,000 never had a problem. Not happy with the 2014 4X4 supercab at all.
I'm here to help, rmorris1953! I'll escalate this to the regional customer service manager for further assistance. Please send me a private message with your full name, VIN, servicing dealership, and best daytime contact number. I'll get started right away!

Thanks Ford Service for the response. I will Pm you later with the info you requested.

Yesterday I made a trip from Wichita, Ks to Kansas City, Mo. Leaving Wichita I pulled my drop deck trailer that weighs approx 4,000 empty with one can pop weight of 750. Had a 10 mph tail wind that kept the load off the truck. Went through the flint hills on back roads at about 65-70 mph and got 10.5 mpg.
Unloaded the pop machine and picked up a large refrigerated cooler about 1/2 way and continued to KC, Mo where we picked up another cooler of the same size.
Going back to Wichita, Ks trailer and cargo weighed approx 5500 lbs. Had a head wind of 15 to 20 mph. Coolers are tall 80" and sit pretty high on trailer.
Set cruse at 73 mph with tow haul. Truck wanted to run in 5th gear at about 2100 rpms. What I noticed was it would down shift to 4th at the bottom of a hill and stay in 4th even after I crested the hill. It might shift to 5th after descending but not right away. If it did it seldom went into 6th.
Here is what I found At the crest of the hill I could tap the gas pedal just enough no change to the rpm's just a quick tap. The transmission would up shift to 6th skipping 5th altogether and stay in 6th for a short distance before downshifting to 5th and once again stay in 5th till I began to go uphill again and back down to 4th. Then same thing at the top it wanted to stay in 4th unless I taped the gas. One other thing I noticed on the flat when running in 5th if I taped the gas the indicator would show 6th but rpms wouldn't change and didn't change gears for a considerable amount of time.
My 2011 run like a diesel it pulled hard before shifting. This truck runs like a gasser. No guts. Gas mileage is horrible. I pulled same trailer loaded with 6 vendors and 1 laying down in bed from Las Vegas to wichita, Ks. 13,200 lbs gross over the mountains in AZ at 70 to 75 mph and got 12.5 mpg. It was a supercab 4X2 with 3.15 axle and pulled like a diesel. 2014 is no where even close to the 2011. I just hope it is in the programming.
1 last thing on previous trucks if you keep your foot on the gas and press the brakes the rpms would increase because the torque converter would lock up. Should that still be the case with these new trucks? Because there is no change in rpms when doing this with this truck.

Sorry for the long post..

I have a 2011 F150 FX4 Ecoboost with less than 49,000 miles and already had to replace vacuum pump twice. First time was last year, and again this year. The first time was still under warranty but this year I had to pay a deductible because it was not covered under the original warranty but under the extended warranty instead. I found this so strange since this is obviously a re-occurring issue from last year. I feel like the dealer should of have not charge anything to my wife the second time to fix it. I'm not very happy with this situation, I feel like at this rate I will have to replace this every year, I feel this is extremely unacceptable, especially for such a new truck. I can't imagine what other issues I will face once I hit 100k. Has anyone found a resolution on this or is there a TSB on it?

Welp, Chalk me up to another candidate for the pump change. I just bought my 2011 F150 on 5/15/15 and noticed this sound. Dealership noticed it when I pointed it out. Thanks to this thread I gave them the part number for the fixed pump. I should hear from them tomorrow when they finish their research.
