Had a aluminized system with a 50 series on my 03 F150 with the 5.4 and it only lasted about 4 years and then I did a custom 3" stainless system with a stainless super 44. I liked the sound for personal use but when I started using the truck for work it was a little loud pulling up to a house for estimates.

I got si/do american thunder series . Pretty happy with it sound-wise. The hardware they give u is junk , had to buy the u- bolt looking exhaust clamps because the stock clamps would back off once in awhile.

I had my guy do "real" duals & super 40's. It sounds bitchin' at about 1600 RPM (45 MPH) but doesn't run you out at highway speeds

In the past, we have provided U-bolt style hardware in our kits. We no longer supply that type of clamp with our systems because they had the tendency to pinch pipes together when overtightened, making later disassembly quite difficult. Unless you are planning on removing your mufflers or complete system in the future, I generally recommend that people weld their kits in place to avoid the possibility of leaks or rattles caused by the vibrations of everyday driving that can potentially cause clamps to slowly loosen-up over time.

im not running any flowmasters, can't afford any mods with a toddler.

i miss the sound of original 40's that I had on my 97 and then 98 f150 with the 4.6l both were true dual setups. the sound was amazing especially with overdrive off crusing around at like 45....(insert tim the toolman grunting here)

Because they are such aggressive mufflers, we generally only recommend Flowmaster Super 10's for off-road use. Catalytic converters do help to quiet things down, remove some rasp, and most importantly protect our environment. I would suggest that you replace the cats that you previously removed and dump your tailpipes further back. I am not sure how much tailpipe that you are currently running but, a minimum of 12” of tailpipe after the muffler will help with sound control and improve the efficiency of your exhaust. If your truck is still too loud, which is possible, I would switch to a larger case muffler or add a couple of Flowmaster resonators.
