Turbonetics Ecoboost Intercooler
Hello all, long long time lurker. Picked up my F150 Ecoboost in 2011 and have been reading this and other forums over the years and doing little mods here and there. Recently I'd been noticing the dreaded hesitation under high throttle on my 2011 Ecoboost. Many people have replaced intercoolers to solve that so I contacted Turbonetics who had an interest in producing an intercooler upgrade for the EcoBoost. I dropped my truck off with them a few weeks ago and picked it up today with a shiny new mod. Below is the Ecoboost intercooler upgrade Turbonetics will be producing. As you can see its quite a bit larger than factory and includes all the hardware necessary for install. It also includes an air scoop in the lower grill section to divert air directly into the intercooler and pass the radiator and other coolers. I'm supposed to get the final temp and boost drop numbers in an email Monday but for now basic specs are less than 1 PSI pressure drop across the core and truck runs significantly cooler under load (towed my boat home today as well). Here's the pics and I'll post back Monday with the final test numbers. I don't have their expected final pricing either but I'll try to get it Monday as well.

I guess I should have mentioned that. It's raining in SoCal today which is when I would get that problem to happen most often. I punched it going up hill several times on the way home (it was a 3 hour drive) where the roads were dry and relatively empty, there was no hint of stuttering. I was having a little too much fun once going up the grade out of Simi Valley though as I hit the limiter and thought it was happening, I just didn't realize I'd hit 100 already.
Short version, its day 1 but no hesitation yet in the exact conditions it used to have problems in.
