That is both city and highway driving and not being aggressive on the throttle. On the highway alone, i would get as good as 10L/100km.

Install the SCT, and noticed a definite performance improvement even on the 87 tune. However, even being lighter on the throttle than one of the Olsen twins, it was hard to average better than 13.5-14L/100km.

With gas the price it is in Canada, i can't see any tuner being beneficial for gas mileage (in my experience only). I have not seen the mileage gains others have seen. Is the truck more fun to drive? yes! Would i put high-octane in and try a 91 tune, no. Way too much $$$ in the tank.

I might consider a custom tune to see if there are any differences, but i can't imagine they would be able to increase power/performace AND maintain good fuel economy.

My 2 cents on the tuners. I got mine for $40 from a guy who didn't want it any longer.
Which SCT tuner u got? Have you updated the device prior to uploading tunes?
I received mine a couple weeks back, i'm still waiting for my custom tunes. it took a while since SCT strategy didnt support mine. But i have tried all 3 canned tunes.
87, i seriously didnt feel any difference from stock
91, it was a little better throttle response
93, which im still using, a much better throttle, better power over the RPM. Also im having better consumption, i used to have 22-23L/100km city, 19-20L/100km now im 17L/100km on both

What most reviews state, is that even with a performance tune you will get a better gas mileage than stock.
I have the same model/engine as yours, and i should get my tuner this week and my custom tunes within a couple of days later. I will eventually post my review.
Have you gotten you tuner installed and has it made a difference in MPG? Let me know as I would love to up my MPG a bit.
Thanks,
Frankie

I have the SCT Flash and have tried out a few of the adjustable options. For those who have it, I was wondering for the adjustable option for the air intake, mine says Stock or Airraid. Will it make a difference between the two? Also, is Airraid a brand name or does it just refer to an aftermarket air intake. Also, what sort of difference are there between the regular tune and tow tune? Any help would be appreciated. I'm still researching what fuel octane tune has the best throttle response or gas mileage.

While a tuner will normally give better MPG on our 2 ton bricks, it still amazes me one would even consider a 2 ton brick as a fuel efficient mode of transportation.

You want fuel efficiency buy a Toyota Prius, if you want a truck that will haul or pull that load you should NOT be worried about fuel economy!!!

With that said my economy would probably be better than it is but it's so much fun to drive with a custom tune my foot negates what my wallet wishes.

Pay to play is NOT just a saying, it's a FACT~~~

Default So far, been happy with diablo but...

So far, I've been happy with Diablo, but I've been thinking of making a change. Any thoughts? I drive a 2011 F-150. Part of the reason i'm looking to switch things up is that PartsEngine.ca started their black friday sale early (entire site 15% off). Not HUGE savings, but I figure this is probably the time of year to find a deal.

Out of curiosity, would a tuner be able to turn off the TPS monitoring system?
