Default Tuner/Programmers

I am starting this thread to get everyone who has one to post up their Tuner/Programmer preference and why. I will keep tabs on it and keep results in this post for quick reference. Give year and engine in your post. I am looking for personal expierence not what someone has heard about a certain Tuner/Programmer. Please keep your posts limited to Tuner/Programmer talk.

SCT X-cal2 tuner. 3 custom tunes (truly custom for just my truck) Better transmission control, ALOT better throttle response. Added 10 peak HP and 19 peak TQ. 2005 4.6

Edge Evolution 2004 5.4, makes a world of difference between it and stock but doesn't seem to have the best reputation for the tranny's, I have only experienced a slight shutter on mine awhile back, also the Master Technician at the Ford Dealer told me today that a programmer would be great in my truck and recommended Edge, He didn't know I already had one.

05 5.4L

Edge Evo - Like the power delivery and have experienced roughly 2-3 MPG increase depending on conditions (never yet lost on it) Happy overall but the level 3 program seems real harsh on the tranny. Would like to get some custom tunes from power-hungry and am also looking at trying an SCT Livewire w/troyer tunes once I update the intake.

Xcal3 tuned by Justin Starkey @ VMPTuning.com. Programmer with 3 tune for 428$. Truck gets close to 17 in town. No level crap, no trans stutter, no trans issues, just quick lockup at WOT, civilized part throttle shift, crisp kickdown from OD, and firm WOT shifting. Does everything I expect from SCT software and nothing unexpected.

Xcal II with Troyer custom tuning 87 & 92 performance, 87 tow tune). Man as soon as I put this thing on and loaded up the 87 performance tune it was like I was driving someone elses truck. The throttle response was amazing, no more pushing the accelerator and waiting for the truck to get up to speed, it simply took off. Also got rid of the speed limiter and I have had my truck up to 110 mph (once).

added the sct livewire, great for both small modifications such as tranny pressure or timing adjustments, as well as a monitor for certain indications such as coolant temp or any of the other things a obd2 port will monitor, truck feels slightly better but its needed for future mods imo

looks like i'm the only guy running the Gryphon, ( which is a rebadged edge for the people that don't know ) running the canned 87 towing tune now and liking it. waiting for the 3 custom tunes. i got 87 perf, 87 tow and 89 perf.
