I bought a sct livewire TS for my 08 5.4, ordered it from 5star tuning for $650 and it came with 6 custom tunes. I usually run it on 87 octane tow/performance and it is like driving a different vehicle. Greatly improved throttle response, gear changes, and accelerating.

SCTx4 and plenty of custom tunes to play with. It holds up to 10. I have tried every one of them and the only one I dislike is the 87eco. Currently stuck on the last one which is MPT, the others are 5*. The MPT tune allows you to tame it to almost stock shifting patterns using the tow/haul button.

Yes it makes a world of difference using custom tunes, not so much with the canned tunes.

Got mine from http://www.stage3motorsports.com/F15...s-By-Year.html

I went with the hypertech because it allowed me to calibrate the speed odometer for the bigger tires. Very happy with it.

SCT has the same feature for adjusting speedo, I think pretty much all tuners do.

You guys haven't experienced any major problems with tranny or engine after tuning ? My truck already has 110k km's on it and I don't think the custom tune is in my budget unfortunately .

No problems with my truck. It now runs like it should have coming off the assembly line, oem tune is watered down garbage compared.

If you can't afford custom tunes the canned tunes are ok but you won't realize the full potential of the powertrain.

Custom tunes are good if you have lots of aftermarket parts, canned tunes are good if you haven't changed much.

There is no comparison even if stock...custom tunes are fare better. Although canned tunes are better than the stock tune....

My truck was completely stock except for a Magnaflow cat back exhaust which by the way is purely for ear candy.

When I got my tuner I immediately went and filled up with 93 and put that canned tune in and could tell a little bit of difference, nothing worth the $400 price tag that's for sure.

Then my custom tunes came in via email and BOOM!!! Huge difference.
