Default Throttle Body Spacers -- Any good?

I currently have a 2010 FX4 with the K&N Cold Air, SCT tuner with custom tunes, a Dynomax single cat back exhaust, and full synthetics. While the mods woke the truck up a bit, it's nothing to write home about thanks in part to the 6" lift and 35s I'm sure.

I just bought a bone stock 2007 FX4 for my daughter's first truck (shhhhh, she still doesn't know) and was looking for a few things to wake it up before giving it to her. I saw the TB spacers from Spectre, AirAid, and Street & Perfomance Electronics, but can find little talk of them with a few searches as far as end user opinions. I'm leaning towards the Spectre cold air kit for her, and the Performance Electronics spacer, but I figured I'd ask here first.

If they are decent and I decide to get one for my truck as well, should the programs still work well on the SCT?

Yes or no would have sufficed.

To the op, I've heard they don't do crap. I have pretty much the same mods on my truck. If I had the money, I'd add every little performance part that I could trying to squeeze out what I could.

I have no experience with TB spacers on F150s, but this topic has been beaten to death on most of the Jeep forums I've frequented.

General consensus is that it gives a different sound (throatier) but no noticeable improvements to anything performance related.

No. Only make your truck faster by making your wallet lighter. :-)

I have a friend with a 2013 Tundra he added K&N intake + throttle body spacer (not sure which one) he only did it to get that beautiful "whistle" airy note at around @2000Rpm

So i decided to give one a try... Bolted on with volant cai, magnaflow and edge programmer with custom tunes... Thinking torque could only be improoved with their dyno tested helix bore that atomizes fuel... Well i lost torque, and this "whistle" that everyone said sounds like a turbo is BS. It sounds nothing like a turbo... A turbo spool has a very distinct rise and fall whistle. This "whistle" noise coming from this thing sounds like a worn serpentine belt. And its so loud in the cab at highway speeds it is so annoying. So: with that said, i removed it and gained my loss of torque and truck sounds good again.

I would recommend this to a 16 or 17 year old. Im sure the kids at school would think its cool. The same ones who guttheir stock intake with PVC and cutoff their exhaust before the cats.

Ok now Im done... I should have listened to the forum.

FYI, for those of you looking to gamble or see for yourself what worthless pos's these are.. Amazon will refund your purchase on Airaid Poweraid TBS as long as you return within 30 days as long as you have all pieces and you do not destroy the packaging. Even after being installed they will still refund your money.
