Is there such a thing as quiet exhaust?
I've had my 05 F150 for a few weeks now and I want to put on an exhaust/muffler. I had a MagnaFlow on my other truck and it wasn't too loud. Does anyone know what I should put on if all I want is a little rumble. I do not want a drone on the highway. I just want something that makes it sound a little manlier without waking the neighbors. Thanks ahead of time for any suggestions.

The largest MangledFlow oval bodies may be what yer looking for.
12276 - 30" overall length, 2.5" in/out 5x8" body
12576 - 24" overall length, 2.5" in/out 5x11" body

I like magnaflow. I have a 14" on my truck now and it definitely isn't loud. You could probably go with an 18" and it would be about the same as your stock exhaust with a bit more of a rumble. If I didn't go with magnaflow, I definitely would have gone with a banks monster exhaust system.

I've had good luck with Spintech. Although I will never mess with my exhaust again unless I get a supercharger or something.
I think the stock sound is just fine. I loved the new muffler at first, but after awhile it just got too annoying and embarrassing.

I chose MagnaFlow. Here's my opinion. https://www.f150forum.com/f7/univers...pinion-246664/
Nice!
See - that's the thing - everyone has a different perspective on what 'loud' is.
I found the 14" to be too much for me - so that's why I recommended the larger/longer muffler bodies.
I think part of the difference is you have 4 cats, whereas I have only two.
Glad yer happy though!

I have a 14" magnaflow si/do with the pipes tucked up behind the bumper and dumped. I also have all stock cats and the resonator. It is very quiet cruising but plenty loud when you get on it.
I started with a cherry bomb (which is essentially a 10 series flow master with less baffle inside) and no resonator, dumped right behind the muffler. It was headache inducing loud. I went back and had the pipes added. It was a little better, but still annoying. A couple of months later, I had that muffler removed and the magnaflow installed, still with no resonator. It was good for about 8 months, then it started to get on my nerves. That is when I put the resonator back in, and now it is perfect, to me. At freeway cruising speed, it is barely audible. My wife said she can't hear me start the truck anymore, only hears it as I drive off down the road.
