Default Suggested Exhausts For Aggressive Sound?

Hi All,

I just purchased a ultra low mileage 2013 150 STX. She runs great and has the 5.0L V8, I just want an inexpensive exhaust system that'll give her that aggressive tone when you hit the gas.

Any suggestions for kits? I don't think I need a new catalytic converter, not sure if that would keep the price down.

I'd like to keep spending minimal since this is purely going to be an upgrade for the ears, not performance.

Any help or suggestions are appreciated!

I've got a Borla single in dual out dumped before the axle with the resonator delete, cost me $200 with install and sounds beautiful sound at idle, no highway drone and sounds mean at wide open throttle.

I wanted the exact some thing for mine and took it over to a local muffler shop that is reputable in the area and discussed some options with the owner after listening to tons of Youtube clips prior. I decided to just keep my stock resonator and piping and do a muffler delete and add in a straight piece of piping in its place. It worked out great and I get a lot of compliments. Overall very happy with my decision.

I installed an Electrical cutout from DMH Performance on my 2009 XLT 4.6L and it sounds amazing IMO.
I have never had an issue with it so far and I can open and close it whenever I please.
I usually close it on long trips then open it back up in the city.
I put a little video on youtube if you want to check it out.

It will add performance as well but it will need to be tuned for the new exhaust. I've had great luck with 27" glass packs. They give a humble sound at idle but sounds great on those fast pull aways. Ive also used super 44's and they are something i would recommend as well.

I wanted to hear my V8 as well. Went with an 18" Magnaflow. My kids love it yet the wife can still fall asleep on trips.

I've got the same with a flowmaster muffler. Loud and aggressive. Does drone on the hwy though.
