Snow Plow for my Ford F-150
I am considering getting a snow plow for my 01’ Ford F-150, mainly for the purpose of plowing my own drive way. It gets cold here in the winter and instead of risking a frost bite when spending two hours cleaning snow with my snow blower, I was thinking it must be nice do it all while sitting inside my truck. I have a few questions:
Has anyone used their F-150 truck to plow? If so, how often?
How about the wear and tear on the frame and drive train? How many seasons can I expect to get out of it?
I have been looking at the Meyer, Fisher, Sno-Way, Boss Plow, and the SnowSport plow. But have to say the SnowSport appears to best fit my purpose (like the price, simplicity, and the looks). http://www.buysnowsportplows.com I just wondering if anyone have some real life experience with these plows (or other plow), and what would you recommend?

Yes you can plow with a 150, but the full size plows you will have to be very careful with. You will beat the crap out of a 150 chassis if you just plow into the stuff. At the place my dad works at they have a boss adjustable v-blade on a bronco and it actually works great, its really weighs down the front tho on the light duty springs and you have to kinda easy into it of just hit it lightly. Tranny likes to get hot too but that might just be cause its a wore out tranny.
I've put a snowsport on a Blazer at work once for a customer. Went and played with it afterwords, and yea it works. Its the simplest thing ever to put on and put up and down, but the blade it very light. It will works great for smooth surfaces with light snow. But and heavy snow and it gonna be difficult cause the blade wants to go over top. Also i don't think it would work on grass areas too well.

I have a 7'6'' Blizzard straight blade on my 06 F-150. I change the tranny oil every 15K, but it does fine. I dont beat on it, but it def seems to be able to handle the weight and snow. Also put a 2.5" leveling kit in to help with the front end sag.
