Well I got a '14 STX with the 3.7, I did the resonator delete, changed muffler to flowmaster 40 series, and left the remaining stock piping. It sounds good at idle up to 2500 then it sounds really loud and ricer sounding. I want the tone to be deeper, what else can I do to get the rumble I am looking for?

Trade it in for a truck with a V8. Sorry but no matter what you throw at a 6 cyl it's still never going to get that deep tone that an 8 cyl produces.

Well I just bought this truck last month so can't take it back and I got it for a steal. I know it will never quite sound like a V8 but my last truck was really close. I had a '99 Sierra with the 4.3 V6. I had originally put a Gibson cat back and it performed well but not enough sound. So then I changed the muffler to a Flowmaster single-in/dual-out 40 series just like what I have now but the one I have now is a single-in/single-out. I've been reading alot and think another problem is I don't have enough pipping and it's to small of a diameter too. Right now it's 2.5 from the cats back, no resonator, and the Flowmaster single-in/single-out 40 series.

Comparing a Chevy to a Ford = apples compared to oranges. You can't use your experiences with one and expect it to apply to the other.
