Default Remote Start

Ok, when I was at the dealership, waiting on the damn paperwork to be finished, they sent the "aftermarket lady" over. She tried to get me to add overpriced items to my F-150. Per Ford (according to this woman) the 2004 + F-150 requires some special module for a remote start unit and the cost plus install for the whole thing is $389. Which seems a little steep to me. So I opted out for the time being.

Anyone got any info on this? It gets cold in the winter here.

She was probably talking about the bypass modlue which is required for our trucks because of the PAS system. If she wanted to charge you $389 for a bypass module alone you were very smart to turn that down. When I got my alarm/remote start installed it cost me an additional $40 for the bypass module for the truck.

400 instaled with a oem system with some sort of waranyt, or something that does not void your current waranty is a "decent" price as long as ford stands behind it, and that price is instaled.

What brand of remote start are some of you guys using? I have an Autostart on my 97 F-150 and love it, still on the same fob and battery sence 2000. My wifes car has a Viper system and it sucks only work about half the time or you have to go outside (in the high teens this morning) to get it to work kinda defeats the purpose. I'm tinking about putting another Autostart on the 06 that I am getting on saturday. Can't hardly wait

I have a bulldog, and it is okay, and that is about it. It does its job, and that all I need it for.
