No a CAI shouldn't require a tune if it doesn't relocate the MAF but don't expect anything but sound from the intake. I'd spend the money on a tune.

The projector halogens i have seen are garbage.

I'd save for some 13-14HIDs or retrofit yours with projector HIDs.

I put an intake on simply cause it eliminated the ugly factory tubing.

Default thank you.

I live in Vancouver Washington what tune would you recommend and what do they run so I don't get okeydoke at least a ballpark idea I hate to go in there and sing something with a great deal and end up leaving without my shorts. and about the cold air intake thank you as well I didn't expect much except for sound which is always a little better for those little ricers. ;0) any recommendations on a good Cai I just spoke about that would not move that sensor. this is my first truck my three sons love it as well as myself and my wife we plan on learning to bow hunt not sure so all input and advice you gentlemen and gentle ladies have would be greatly appreciated I would like the Dear and Elk to know that we coming and not laugh but to take a serious

1. There ARE no "Good CAI's" for yer truck. They will all do squat save for appearance and sound changes. Not worth the money whatsoever. Some will even foul yer MAF with filter oil over time. Nice bonus, that, lol.

2. You WILL need a custom tune - as almost ALL these Warm Air Intakes either relocate the MAF AND/OR alter the geometry of the MAF venturi region. This renders the MAF TF inaccurate - which can only be corrected by replacing same with a re-written one, via a reflashed custom tune.

Recommendation: http://www.morepowertuning.com/sct-7...ford-f150-5.4L

Comes with 3 custom calibrations and an additional forum discount.

You specify yer aftermarket changes ( including a CAI) on the worksheet: http://www.morepowertuning.com/customtuneform

Bottom line: redirect the to-be-wasted funds from a POS WAI purchase towards the programmer - you will get TANGIBLE gains. WELL worth it.

Don' t believe me? Fine - then believe the Wizard at PHP: http://www.f150online.com/forums/200...highlight=2009

good luck

Thanks for picking our exhaust. We hope you like it. To answer your question about a cold air intake, most so-called cold air intakes are less effective than the stock airbox. If designed well, they can give you a small bump in power with a tune. They will give you a lot more induction noise, which is awesome especially since you already have an exhaust. It's been a couple years since I lived in WA but they didn't have a visual inspection as of 2012 so in terms of an emissions inspection, you should be just fine. Hopefully this helps, shoot us a PM if you had any questions!
