Default Programmer for towing/economy

I'm having a hard time figuring out what I want/ need. I have a 2013 Scab Ecoboost. I've put a K&N CAI. I plan on doing something with the exhaust and something with the suspension for towing like air bags. Not much else for a while, performance wise.

I'm leaning towards SCT and have done the most research with SCT products.

The iTSX would be used with my Android Droid Bionic phone or Samsung Note 3 8inch tablet, or NookTablet. I already have an ODB-II bluetooth adapter and use the Torque app. Do they do the same thing, gauge reading wise? Do i need this or could I just go with the wired X4?

What would I be missing if i went with X4 and my Torque app vs the iTSX?

The Livewire looks cool too, but I'm not sure I want a flashy device on my dash asking to be stolen.

I would like to monitor things while towing. Different temps, boost, etc but I don't think I would need to monitor every time, just while it is new and I'm figuring things out.

I tow a 2004 Rockwood Roo 23SS. It is about 4,400lbs unloaded, and i put a lot of crap in it when we go camping, along with firewood in the bed. The first trip the truck had the power, but seemed to 'float' more. My weight distributing hitch needs a little adjusting, i think.

The other thing that has confused me is programming. I don't think i need anything 'custom' since I'm only doing intake and probably exhaust.

when i look at 5star tuning's website it has dropdowns for tunes. Are those 'custom' tunes? What tunes does just the device come with? I don't think I need custom, but I want to make sure I have things like 87/91 octane, towing /economy.

Thanks!!
Jason.

I can only answer part of your questions. SCT X4 in my opinion is your best option it comes with canned tunes from SCT for all octane levels. You do not need custom tunes for intake/exhaust but i would custom tune. Its safer and you know for a fact that your truck is running correctly. Torque app will monitor everything that you need to monitor while towing. i would not spend the money on the itsx. You can datalog with any of the SCT tuners.
