power folding running boards

power folding running boards
I asked my local dealership today how much it would cost to have the powered running boards added to my 15 lariat. they said they don't have powered running boards. I figured I was using the wrong terminology, so I said the running boards that you can get on the platinum or the 14 limiteds that fold up. he got angry at this for some reason and said check AMP research but ford does not make running boards and they wont install them....
so I did check out AMP research and they look like what I want. my question to the experts here is how are easy are they to install yourself, whats the quality like, pros and cons of living with these? is there a switch install so that you can turn them off and if so where did you mount it/ pics?
and finally any comment on what I was told at the dealer would be helpful. maybe ill try a different dealership if someone else has had them dealer installed.
thanks for any advice!

They are easy to install, can be installed with basic hand tools. They mount in the same locations that the stock ones mount to. They have a couple wiring options, look at the vendors section, autoplicity is selling them pretty cheap and February amp is running $100 rebate.
