Peragon Truck Bed Cover Group Buy
This past weekend, I installed a Peragon Bed Cover on my 2013 FX2. Although that in itself is great - because it's a quality-made product, what I really want to say is what a professional experience I had with Peragon. Right from the start, Rebecca answered a few questions I had about the discounts and optional items. The next day I placed my order and it shipped that day! Peragon must've been tracking the shipment because on the day of delivery, I got a call from Rodger who was checking to make sure everything arrived OK and to let me know he was available to assist with any process of the install if I had issues/questions.
What a pleasure doing business with an "Made-in-America" company! Thanks...

Well, my cover arrived this AM, much to my surprise as it was scheduled for Monday.
I can't say enough good about Heath and his company. They're quick to respond, easy to deal with and ship quickly. Exactly what so many other companies lack, they have in spades.
With that being said....
I did the install today and it was pretty easy overall. A peculiarity of the F150's is the bed rail which has 3 raised edges which caused me to raise the top rails of the cover an additional 1/8 inch. No matter as it worked just fine. Having a drop in bed liner from the dealer meant I also had to trim where the brackets hang down as they were hitting the side of the liner and causing the smaller rollers to contact it. It was an easy fix with a sawzall
Speaking of the side rails, it is a bit disconcerting that they don't lap over the bed rails much at all. Trust the directions and take time with the washers to space it properly. It only touches the bed rails at the seal and, back to the ridge in the factory bed rail, makes it a bit more challenging to get the seal to lay flat. It's very easy to have the seal too tight so add another washer if needed.
Overall, very good quality, easy installation (90 minutes tops including adjustments) works really well and the auto fold up is a damn nice touch. Press down firmly on the first fold and it folds automatically.
I've been a user of covers for the past 12 years and the technology and refinement has come a long, long way since then. Maybe one day we'll have an all electric, carbon fiber cover???
I installed the rear bed seal as well. Now the top "pops" when I close the tailgate and the tailgate has a nice snug feeling now. I like it, a lot.
The finish is nice too. I think on a warm sunny day I can cook my breakfast on top of that thing
But, it's powdercoated so I have no doubts it will hold up well with minimal care.
So far I am a very happy customer!

So I love my cover and wondered how safe or durable the cover would be if I did a rhino/line-x finish? I have my bed sprayed and although the original black finish on my cover is sweet, I wouldn't mind getting the sprayed finish on there to hide any possible scratched. What's your thoughts Peragon?

When your Peragon cover is folded up, there is about 3/16" of space between the panels. So the spray-on liner finish couldn't be much thicker than 1/16" before you'd start to interfere with the panels as they fold. Most of the Rhino or Line-X type finishes we're familiar with go on at 1/8" thick or more - which is great for a bed liner, but wouldn't work on our cover.
If you find someone who could keep the thickness at about 1/16", here are a couple other considerations...
You'd want to make sure they mask the ends of the panels so no spray-on finish is applied within 1/4" of the point where the panels slide under the guide rails. There isn't room in the rails for the extra thickness and the spray-on liner would interfere with the seal in the rail doing its job.
Similarly, you'd want to ask them to mask the seals between the panels so no spray-on finish is applied to them.
If you decide you'd like to pursue this and have any other questions I can help with, please let me know - glad to help!
