Default No steering wheel controls

My buddy just recently installed a new stereo system in my truck. He took out the stock head unit and replaced it with a JVC KD-R800. Now none of the controls on my steering wheel work such as volume, mem, etc. Is that just a part of getting an aftermarket head unit or is there something not wired correctly? I miss my volume control

haha it's a luxury you learn to love. Good to know. I just wanted to make sure it was something typical not a bad wiring job. Thanks

This unit is the most reliable and won't "lose" memory like some of the others.

x2 on the PAC units. I would have one myself but don't see steering wheel controls worth 100 bucks right now. Maybe down the road.
