Depending on how lienient or harsh your dealer is, any of those could void a portion of the warranty. The dealer must prove that your mod had a direct effect on the warranty problem. The write up is the important part. It will get put into the computer system and be there forever. Most people that install tuners, remove them for a few days prior to taking to dealer. The key is having a good relationship with your servicing dealer.
Be careful with upgrades the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act does not cover performance upgrades. I know most of the aftermarket will try and tell you that there products will not void the warranties, I have seen on other sites that ford has successfully voided warranties when the owners have put on K&N cold air kits, I have also seen warranties voided by tuners. If you try and sue to reinstate your warranty Ford will try and use there lawyers delay and bankrupt you.
Yeah, looks like i will be waiting to get those upgrades until 3yr/36k miles, whichever comes first...sucks too, cause it knocks a few years off of my higher level of enjoyment of the truck.
I think i have decided to go with single exit exhaust too after reading about backpressure stuff and what not, seems safer. C'mon ford, is it so much of a sin for people to want to enjoy modifying your trucks that you void their warranties, all i wanted to do was make your engine breath better and sound nicer, maybe some brighter HID headlights too...so sad.
