NEED ANDWER TONIGHT! 2 1/2" exhaust vs. 3"
Please respond I am offing my muffler tonight! I have a 2000 5.4L V8 and has stock 2 1/2" exhaust and I want to know if I make it 3" what are the pros and cons? I and getting a flowmaster super 10 and dumping it before the rear tire passanger side... I want to keep drone to the miniamal !

Are we talking a single or dual setup? Single a 3" is great but for dual it's a little much. 2.5" would be better for dual.
Advantages of larger pipe is better exhaust scavenging at higher RPMs but worse at lower RPMs costing you some low end torque and power.
It's all give and take but your butt dyno really won't notice any difference.
