It does cost more but in a twin turbo, high compression engine like the ecoboost you shouldnt be running anything but 93 OCT or 91 if thats all you can get too much risk especially tuned.... Its only 8 or 9 $ a tank... You should be able to afford that if you bought a brand F 150 !!! If your worried about the cost of the tuner right now is a good time to get a used one, the new x4 is out and there is gonna be 3015 and livewires all over for cheap !!! But MPT's price with three custom tunes is dang hard to beat.

93 is worth it !!! Truck runs noticably better in my opnion plus it adds safety from a detonation.

Do you have to pay for the tune revision? Is it done regularly?Among mine I have a 91 Tow tune that wasn't acting right. So I contact my current tuner about the problem. He then sent me a tow tune revision that I loaded as an additional tune onto the Livewire. So that's what I thought a revision was, to repair/fix a bad tune, or one that you were not happy with. I just ordered two tunes from MPT and am expecting them next week. I'm not a computer person. I understand what data logging is, just not how to do it. Oh, by the way I have an '11 Lariat with the 6.2.

To answer your questons when you get a Custom tune with MPT if there is a new revision that comes out all you have to do is email them and they will send it too you at no charge. Complete tune revisions are random, you have to make contact to get the free revision. Now there are data logging revisions also done by MPT for free if you do the datalogging and send them back and wait they will tweak it to perfection this is recommended because all the engines react diffrent with the same tune.... Also if you buy a new product such as meth inj from MPT they will revise your tune for free. Datalogging is simple there is a how to in the 2011+ section, but you have a 6.2 so id ask MPT what they want you to log. The pids will be diffrent than the ecoboost or 5.0.

Hope this helps any questions just ask or PM Me !

Wink

Ok, that's cool. Thanks. I had no idea that I could get a tune "tweeked". I thought "once and done" for that particular tune. So then I have one other question if you don't mind. On the Livewire, can I delete just one of the tune files from it? I'm afraid if I screw it up I won't be able to fix it, being computer illiterate and all? I have a 91 Tow tune that I wasn't happy with. Wasn't giving me the power I needed on an incline and was using a lot of fuel. I emailed my tuner about the problem. He then emailed me a 91 Tow tune rev. file. I loaded it as a new tune. Now I have two 91 Tow tunes including the revised one. Once I get the two tunes I just ordered from MPT I'll have eight tune files on the Livewire. I'd just like to free up a slot incase I decide I want to try another vendors tunes.

Yes you can delete it or simply just write a new tune over the old one that you dont want.

So I have some MPG #'s from my 87 Octane Towing Chill tune from MPT. I am seeing a 1mpg improvement over stock, this means I am averaging 18mpg with the 5.4L V8 driving to and from work. This is city driving of an 8 mile one way trip with a stop every 1.5 to 2 miles or so. This is amazing, I expected to see improvements for consistent 45mph driving and hwy but not like this for city. If I drive for several miles @ 45mph I can see milage in the area of 20mpg!!! Great job MPT!! I will be contacting them soon for data logging info and what to measure/ record for them.
