After doing some extensive research on the forum here I had Line-X premium done today along with a BakFlip FiberMax. I already knew that I was doing Line-X premium, had it on my previous truck, but I debated for a long time on the tonneau, and finally settled on the FiberMax. I'm really happy with it so far (so far being 4 hours). I bought it through the Line-X dealer, he got me a good price. I was supposed to do the install myself to save a few bucks but they told me they just did it for me for free since they do it all the time, said it took them like 20 mins. Great customer service on that one.

nice job sir ! I've just purchased my first truck last week, an '11 XLT scab 5.0, 6.5ft bed, no liner. What made you decide on the Line-X premium versus other brands ? I called one local (Chicagoland) Line-X dealer and got quoted $600 installed. Does that sound fair ? My main consideration in choosing a spray-in liner is durability/cleanability/stain-resistance...although i really don't haul anything regularly, just occasionally some relatively lightweight exercise equipment. The Line-X dealer told me (or sold me ?) that the 'standard' ($500 installed) stains easily and is not UV-resistant. I am open to choosing a different brand than Line-X . Thanx for any advice & feedback on this !

Congrats on the truck purchase! First truck, you'll never go back to anything else.

I chose Line-X this time around since I had it on my previous truck 10 years ago (an '05 Ram 1500). When I did my research back then I had seen guys with Rhino, and other brands of spray-in liners, and then I saw a guy with Line-X and I really liked the way it looked, felt, etc. I don't know how much truth there is to this nowadays, but back then a few guys I talked to had said Rhino was a little softer and had a tendency to scratch with sharper objects. Again, this was 10 years ago, not sure what kind of product they have now, but this time around I already knew I wanted Line-X so didn't do any other research.

My dealer was located in Prairie Grove (IL). I can give you their info, they did a really nice job. They were the ones who mentioned Line-X premium. I looked on the Line-X site and it showed a comparison of a 5 year old liner with and without the premium UV protection, so I went with it this time around. My old liner in my last truck did fade after awhile, so we'll see what happens this time. $600 sounds right, that's right around what I paid.

I can tell you that I love the Line-X and would recommend it to anyone. I just got this one, but my last one I would throw tools back there (like literally toss them into the bed), haul gravel, patio paver stones, appliances for friends, and I never had any issues with the Line-X at all, it's great stuff. I mean, not to say it doesn't get beat up after hard use, it's not always going to look pristine and everything, it'll get scratched up a bit if you use it hard like I did, but I never had problems with stains (I didn't really haul chemicals though).

The Truck Gear by LINE-X Hard Folding Cover is the same as the Bakflip Fibermax except:
1. Instead of D-rings, it has integrated straps (like the Undercover Flex). I'm guessing that upcoming Fibermax covers will also get this new design.

I got an online quote for $759, so mentioned that to the Line-X guy and he said he'd match it, and then he even did the install for me no charge. Score.

Line X looks great, looks like they did a real nice job.

They did, except they got a little bit of overspray on the passenger rear quarter panel. They said Line-X'ing the 2015s has been tough because usually they use magnets to hold plastic onto the trucks, but for our trucks they have to tape everything off since the magnets don't stick to them.

Luckily I found it pretty quick when hand washing the truck the next day, the one quarter panel felt like sandpaper. They were able to get it off easily since it was still pretty fresh. But outside of that yeah they did a really nice job, even around that black button for the bed LEDs and everything. I'm really happy with it.

I just called the shop you used and the base spray is $479 and they have a special to upgrade to the premium for $110. Looks like I will get this done as well since the $50 off on the premium upgrade Line X is promoting. My truck hasn't left the garage in over a month, good time to get this done. It can sit for a few days and not have to worry about screwing up the new liner.

That looks awesome! Any particular advantages to getting Line-X premium vs. standard other than the resistance fading?

I plan on getting a tonneau cover as well, but I just wasn't sure if it was really worth making the jump to premium if I'm going to have it covered. I'm sure Line-X standard will eventually fade somehow with age, but it will be protected from UV rays at least with the cover.

I haven't called the dealer yet, but I figured I'd jump in and try to get some info from a non-salesman haha.
