I think its due to the factory backspacing.

My only goal is to replace my OEM tires with slightly larger, 275-60-20 Toyo ATII tired and level up a bit more. Not cram big tires in or lift it super high.
My truck is a 2013 FX4 with the black OEM 20" wheels which I actually like and want to keep.
I'm hoping the 5100 shocks will give me the small increase I need to clear those tires and stiffen up the ride a bit as factory is a little soft.
I dont want rub or scrap at full lock or in reverse etc etc... Ideally it should be as solid as factory with zero issues.
Thanks in advance for any input
Danny
I have my shocks set at 2.5" and there is no rubbing with 275/65R20s on stock wheels. The tires aren't any wider than stock so they shouldn't rub the spring.

I have 5100s and 305/55-20 on the stock FX4 wheels and they only rub at full lock. You should be fine with those tires

Bilstein is the way to go if you can afford it.

To be honest, you get what you pay for. Bilstein backs their leveling shocks with a lifetime guarantee saying that their shocks will outlive the life of the truck, if they don’t you get the next set for the same vehicle free.

I know it's a marketing piece, does make a compelling argument for the Bilsteins:

Reason I considered them was the cost of labor for install for spacers wasn't exactly inexpensive and I felt Tirerack's price for Bilsteins was reasonable.

I'm a few clicks away from buying this same set up. Are you still really pleased with it? How does the ride compare to the stock set up? Is it softer, stiffer, roll more or less, etc? Can you feel a big difference between the adjustment choices?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

So I ordered some Bilstein5100's for my truck. You mentioned accelerated wear on front end components with the lift kits. Will I also get this accelerated wear with the Bilsteins?
I plan on keeping my truck for a while.
I just ordered a couple for the back also. Why not.

I've had mine in for just over a month and I'm pleased with the ride. Yes, you can feel the difference between adjustments. Depending upon the adjustments I can dial it in for a ride just like the stock set up or whatever I choose based on my load and driving conditions.

I've got mine set soft @ 2 on all four for around town driving.

Hauled truck loads of dirt the last two weekends, first time set all four to 9, too stiff, set the rear at 9 & front at 5 this last weekend, rode better. Going camping in August, four adults and a weeks worth of gear, so I'm really looking forward to being able to adjust for the ride vs amount of load.

Thanks Sparky! I hope to receive mine before the weekend so I can get started on installation!
