I was told by the local Line-X dealer that this cover is a rebadged BakFlip F1 but they offer a lifetime warranty versus a three year from BakFlip. (For a $100 increase in MSRP).

Yes I agree but I'm a little more knowledgeable than an average person.

I was just curious & learned how to pick locks of many kinds. The scary part was how easy it really is to bypass most locks including ones that claim pick resistant.

There are some tricks to make the tonneau more secure but a determined thief would get in anyway.

Tonight I actually was hauling under the tonneau over 1200.00 worth of stuff we purchased during the day. I think it isn't so tempting to breaking if there is no knowledge of what's under it.

Not F1, Fibermax.

Ok, so I purchased this Tonneau. On my previous F150 I had the Extang hard folding Tonneau. (i loved it, but after 5 years the sun damage and use had started to wear it out, plus it didn't fit my 2015 anyway).

Anyway, I purchased it and LOVE it. Living in Georgia, we've had some Torrential downpours in the past few days..... not a DROP has made it into the bed. My electronic opening tailgate works flawlessly..... and the best thing is I've noticed a 1.5 MPG increase in fuel efficiency.

Each folding section has it's own lock, and it sits flush with the bed. It's no where near as heavy as my old extang, but remains rigid (i'm afraid to walk on it, but I think it would hold me, i'm 250lbs)

Easy to open and close. You have to close the tailgate before locking this thing, and after doing it twice, i now remember every time to close the tailgate first.

My line-x Dealer (alphareta line x) did the install and did install the drain holes, took them about 30 minutes. Total price 850 installed.

I HIGHLY recommend this tonneau. The only thing i'm concerned with is there is a little rubber piece that attaches to the end of the cover for when it's fully raised so it doesn't scratch the cab...... but I think Truck Gear was worried about this piece also, because they give you a spare.

Oh, as far as it being a tight fit, it is. To allow the automatic tailgate to lower, my installer put a small bead of wd40 silicone along the seal with the tailgate.

Interesting how the different line-x franchises charge different prices. My local shop said $490 for the spray and $1195 for the cover referenced by the OP. Installation free for cover with bedliner spray purchase.

The Truck Gear cover was a rebadged Fibermax, it's now a rebadged MX4.

Mine I purchased earlier this year is the fiber panels which don't dent like metal could.

I actually purchased the TruckGear because of warranty from National company, convenience of having it done at same time as my LineX bed liner as well as it would be installed correctly most likely.

I use mine daily & so far still holding up well with no leaks even with touchless car wash & my pressure washer with foam Cannon at home. This dry bed is even without drain tunes installed because my LineX dealer preferred not to drill holes in a brand new bed but said they would if I really wanted them to. I chose to wait & see if really needed. Still no leaks so not needed.

Maybe they leak more over time or maybe leaks are more due to installation issues only time will tell.

I'm not even having water come in tailgate to my surprise yet.

Only negative so far is when folded up completely it does block my rear window so I can't watch what I have loaded. I do check the bolts every so often but they seem to be holding now.

Does anyone have a brochure or spec for this mysterious Line-X cover? The information on their website is insufficient (few bullet points at http://linex.com/accessories/truck-gear) and I could not find a representative number of reviews - these things do not seem to be sold by anyone but Line-X. Given the fact that there are several OK tri-fold hard covers in $800-900 price range, is Line-X cover a good deal?

My tri-fold cover is a BakFlip F1 rebranded under the Line-X name. The difference? It was similar MSRP (maybe $100 more), but it came with a lifetime warranty as opposed to a three year warranty from BakFlip. (Though the BakFlip F1 on sale on their website right now).

I went with Line-x because I was getting spray liner done at same time and they gave me a bundled price for installation/spray/cover. I didn't feel like installing it myself. I also liked the lifetime warranty because any cover I've ever seen, they always appear broke to me after a few years. Small sample size, but I know two people who have broken ones right now.
