Default The Best back-up Camera for my F150

Just installed my new backup camera from camera-source and I’m impressed with the overall quality. I had a backup camera I had bought from “Tailgatecamera” and installed it on my 2012 F150 FX2 Super Cab Eco boost right after I bought it along with an after-market Kenwood head (Best Buy) unit as my new stereo and camera monitor. Well let’s say I was okay with it until I got in my buddies new 20103 F150 that had the OEM camera and head unit and realized how crappy mine was…
Well had it all installed on my truck for 6 months at that point I tried a warranty head unit from Best Buy that was not it. So that left the camera I tried to contact tail gate camera to swap out or return it. Well surprise nothing offered when I contacted them seems customer service on a 6 month old item is not important as selling stuff to new victims oh I mean customers ( LOL)
Well I was on a quest now to find a camera that was every bit as good as the OEM without the price tag to go with it.
My search found camera-source.com on a google search well I decided to look and see what they offered. They had this camera I could put in SKU: CS-FTR for $289 or the OEM SKU: 5CS-FTRO for $399
So I called I had a few questions for the sales rep answered them and suggested the $289 camera I was a bit nervous to buy anything less than OEM he said it as good as the OEM unit and he was right much to my surprise!
I have only been using it for a few days now but obvious I have clearer and larger back up area than I did before on my truck. Day and Night this thing simply works perfect! Plus a grid like factory KUDOS on that!

It was super easy to install, no problems it looks and works like the OEM camera if not better and camera quality rocks even in bright daylight and night and I live in sunny Phoenix AZ..
Am a very satisfied customer this is a very well-engineered product. Two thumbs up!!
The camera to monitor cable was much longer than needed (thank God) plus the connectors and loom made look factory under my truck.

I just ordered the CS-FTR-332 that comes with everything I need (supposedly). My question is did you any issues with instillation. I can't find any video of instillation of these camera systems.

Thanks for your order! We are working on a video but it's not ready quite yet... just give a call if you get stuck on anything and we will be happy to assist. Read through the instructions first so you sort out all the stuff that doesn't apply to your year/model and you will find it's pretty straight forward.

Also, if you have a 2013+ and don't have to relocate the gyro send an email through the website and we will send a highlighted version of instructions that may help simplify things.

Take care and thanks again for your business!

I do have a 2013 and I unplugged my mirror and my compass still worked. So I hope I ordered the correct kit.

Yep that's the right kit and you will not have to relocate your compass gyro so that makes things even easier. I sent you the installation instructions through email so you can check out the highlighted sections that are applicable to your install.

Thanks again for your business!

Where did you send the instructions,I can't find them. I did recieve my kit today and reading through them I see how you can get confused about witch section pertains to my vehicle.

I'v got a question about the rear view mirror. I took my truck to the dealer and had the mirror removed (it took three techs to figure out how to get it off) but I didn't put the new one on and the next day my battery was dead. When you unplug the mirror does it drain electricity from the battery

Will the battery drain if you unplug the rearview mirror?
