I'm glad to hear you decided on a Peragon cover! Another good way to answer your snow and ice question is to say that we're located in northern Wisconsin! So from day one our design has been tested and proven in fairly harsh winter conditions. Like with anything, enough ice buildup on the cover can be a hassle, but our design is robust enough to handle it. If I can answer any other questions about our cover, please let me know!

Fold-A-Cover install
After looking at several tonneau covers, I went with the Fold-a-cover because I liked the 4 panel and matte finish; and what I think is a better locking mechanism than some of the others with front and back access. Peragon would probably have been my choice if they had the matte instead of smooth finish. Also, I did like the lower profile such as the undercover flex or bakflip- so the locking latch mechanism is what made the diff. Here's some pics-
Fed-Ex guy left this on doorstep and bailed-- no ringing the door with 3 of us home. Fortunately, the gash in the box did not get to any parts but .
Thought I was going to have to do a bunch of trimming of the bedliner, but probably could have gotten away without doing any-- I did a little in each corner just to make sure it was out of the way.
Nearly finished install-- just the weather seals to attach- but too much pollen dropping and everything is dusty. I spent way too much time installing (trying to even it up and make the latches fit) and tried to get ahead of the directions, but once I went back and looked it was straightforward:

ok, so 6 months now with my Peragon cover and I'm mostly satisfied. My biggest complaint is probably something I should have considered but did not think of it. I probably should have ordered the cover with the dual locking system.
I did not think it was needed but here is why it might be for you:
We have had a lot of very wet snow this year. What that causes is the side opposite the bolt to dip down under the weight of the snow and allow entry of snow, water and ice. As things freeze up the cover is essentially stuck partially opened to the elements in that area and it is very tough to clean out and get it closed up properly again. This has happened several times this season and it only takes 2 or 3 inches of heavy wet snow, rain on top of that compounds the issue and it can easily happen in a few hours while you are sound asleep. So I don't by the "you should keep it cleaned off argument. The double locking system would help in this area I'm quite sure.
My other issue is with water entry at the tailgate. I think most of the issue is around the extendable step There are gaps there that are not covered by the seal. This is probably not as much of a problem on trucks without the step package.
First, I guess it would be a good idea to see if the dual bolt kit can be retrofitted. I think in all practicality the dual bolt should be standard, not optional.
Second, some kind of kit for the step area might be a good idea.
Third, as mentioned above in my previous posts I would really like a textured matt finish option. I would have chosen that without a second thought if it was available.
And so it is. after 6 months of use I'm pretty satisfied overall. If I had it to do over again I would get the dual bolt setup.

The water intrusion at the step is a problem with all I think. I have it on my G2, it lets a little water down but not enough to soak anything and it just drips down the tailgate out the bottom so it's not a big deal to me.

Just in case there are any members reading this old thread, currently trying to decide the same thing the op was trying to decide. I have had a bakflipVP for a little
over 2 years and it is a decent cover. I emailed them a couple of weeks ago asking if I could buy replacement clips that hold the rods in the stowed position while they are not being used because mine broke. Unfortunately they never responded. If you buy a bak product, be prepared for weak or non-existent product support.

Now the great news! The Dual Deadbolt option can be easily retrofitted and I've sent a note to our Support team asking them to contact you to confirm your shipping address. We'll ship the parts to you at no charge this week.
Thank you for posting your long-term review!
