how to make a hood scoop functional??
Ive got the tuscany ftx package on my f150 and it comes with a hood scoop. I thought it was just cosmetic but when i opened it, i found out that one of them actually is functional. what do i need to do to actually hook it up to the engine so its not just blowing air over the space? Will this really be of any noticeable help?

I'm in New Orleans, .. well on the west bank anyway but i'd like to take a look at what you are talking about.
If you think ram air or something like that you can forget about that because ram air is only truly effective at speeds only aircraft are capable of.

The original hood scoops simply fed carbs that sat on top of the motor.

I know this is a old thread however, a simple k & n cold air kit will get it done. It will not make it truly ram air as it is not a completely sealed system and ram air is only really functional above 70mph. You will not see any measurable differences pulling cold air in from above the hood as you are already pulling cold air in from the wheel well area.<br />
You will love the snort that a cold air intake makes though 😈
