Question How do I determine weather I need pinion shim or carrier bearing relocation after

How do I determine weather I need pinion shim or carrier bearing relocation after lowering 2/4 ? I lowered using McCaughy's 2/4 and I have the shudder from 15-35/40 on take off. How can I determine which one I need? I would rather shim since its less permanent but how do I figure out how much of a shim I need?

I thought if its not lined up put white grease on gear and see where it wipes off. Than you move it in or out

You might be thinking of gear mesh? This has to do with the pitch of the rear axle after lowering.
