I just ordered the BAKFlip Roll-X for my 2013 F150. I didn't want a canister ex. roll n lock (takes up bed space, not easily removed), or a trifold that blocked my view. The Roll-X is easily removable and secure. I didn't hear about the Peragon until just now. It looks like a nice option as well. I will let you know what my opinion is later this week when it arrives.

Looking at all the pros and cons of just about every tonneau (hard) cover on the market, I decided to go with an easy on/easy off folding hard tonneau by Advantage, called the Hard Hat Premier. It comes with a rag top material versus the standard hard hat which is vinyl. I am not looking for a vault rather something that looks good, is easy on easy off and has a good warranty. All of which the Advantage Hard Hat falls under.

I will post pictures when it is installed (sometime next week I should get it)

If you like the flush look, here is the installed picture of the Bak Roll X. It was easy to install and looks great. I haven't had a chance to leak test it yet.

Just curious if you have had any leaks? Do you still like it? I am thinking about either the Roll-x or possibly the Fibermax.

I Love it. It doesn't leak at all.

Default Just purchased and installed the Extang 56405 Solid Fold Tonneau

For what it's worth, I owned a Chevy Avalanche for 10 years and always loved the factory cover(s). One week ago I purchased the 2013 F150 and that night, after researching on this site, ordered the Extang Solid Fold Tonneau. I installed it myself last night in about 15 minutes. So far, I think it looks great, installed easily, and will quickly remove and store in the bed when I have larger hauling needs. I purchased mine on Amazon. Shipping was free, price was about $80 less than most other sites, and it arrived a day earlier than predicted. So far, so good!

The Solid Fold is nice and easy but will cover the stake pocket holes.

This is my 2nd Bakflip VP and I love it!

I can't speak for or against Peragon - but I know the Bakflips are great covers and 99% of people like them.

Bakflip VP gets my vote as well. I had a Peragon on my 2011 truck and while it was very nice and fit the bill in most situations, I just wasn't as pleased with it as I had hoped over time.

1. Texas heat makes it damn near impossible to open since you have to push the front two panels down to start the folding process.

2. Even after numerous waxing and layers of protection applied to it, the powdercoated surface faded badly after just 2 years. The seals between the panels were also ALWAYS full of grit and other crap that built up in there. The rails that mounted to the bed also faded badly in that time as well.

3. Drilling holes is required as is using between 10 and 15 washers at each corner of the bed to level and align the rails. I always felt like that was a cheap and less than professional way of aligning it considering the cost involved for that cover.

4. The Peragon also leaked at all four corners and at each of the seals between the panels. That isn't so much of an issue really, but I have read and seen others with this cover who didn't have as many leaking issues as I did.

I left that cover on my 2011 when I traded it in (partly because it had holes drilled in it so I didn't want to trade it in that way and partly because I wasn't happy with the cover) and started shopping for a different one for my 2013.

To me the BakFlip VP fits what I need in a lot of ways. It still is a tri-fold hard cover, but because it has vinyl on the top, you can't tell that it is and it is a smooth surface throughout the cover top. No gaps or seals between the panels to worry about things getting in. It is also about as low profile as you can get with a tonneau cover. I'm sure there are ones that are even more low profile, but this one is pretty close.

Install took all of 30 minutes start to finish and that's because I went slow and expected it to me much more difficult. The Peragon, for comparison, took me almost 3 hours and took another couple months of slight adjustments to make it work right. If you don't have the rails on the Peragon PERFECTLY parallel to each other, the cover does not open and close properly so I was adjusting it a lot.

Lastly, it doesn't leak a drop of water. I have only had the cover about a month and we are in a nasty drought here in central TX, but last Friday we had a solid day of pouring rain and got over 3". The truck sat in the driveway for most of that day but I also had about 15 miles of driving to do in rain that even with the wipers on high, forced you to drive slowly. I have a BedRug so spotting the wet areas is super easy. I had two small drops in each of the rear corners near the tailgate and that was it. I don't have the drain tubes installed on this cover either. It's that well sealed and tight.

Here is mine shortly after the truck was just waxed and sealed and the little guy had to make sure he was in the picture

All in all, both the Peragon and VP are good covers. That's the beauty of this area of the aftermarket. We literally have hundreds of choices that fit just about everyone's needs. On one had it is kinda nice and on the other makes it a little overwhelming at times

Mind if I add that to the F150 Bakflip VP page?
