Right now 93 is 55 cents more, while prices are this low, however when prices were higher 93 was around 80 cents more a gallon compared to 87. I guess going to 91 wouldn't be too bad, but you're still talking a lot a tank for some difference. My tank costs over 60 dollars to fill up now with 87, and was about 110 before when it was in the 3 dollar range a gallon. Another ~20 dollars a tank for premium when prices are higher. You go through a lot of tanks, I'm just wondering if there's some actual evidence to make it worth 20 bucks every couple weeks.

I'm in Michigan by the way
Maybe I wasn't clear....there was a big difference between just the 87 octane tune & the 89 octane tune
We don't have 91 here or I would have gone to 91
Once Winter gas is past I will go w/93 octane during warm weather
Then switch back to either the 87 or 89 for the Winter
Since I don't drive a ton of miles for me its not a hard choice
I also use Stop & Shop discount & fill up w/.30c off per gallon usually

But even w/basic tune the Truck just responds better
Well worth the $$ for the tuner & 3 custom tunes IMO

On most Fords power and mileage will increase with higher octane, especially the newer ones. The difference is even greater when we're able to tune specifically for a higher octane. Varies depending on which motor it is. At least 8 or so hp between 87 and 93 octane on the 2011+ 5.0L, with an even bigger difference on forced induction applications like the 3.5L Ecoboost.

I have an sct tuner with a custom 91 eco and perf. tune. My truck only has a CAI and glasspack. The thing is I didnt know my wife put in half a tank of 87 oct while on tuner was set on 91 perf tune. It ran like that for about a week before I found out. I thought the engine was supposed to "blow up" or something.

You can run 87 tune on 93, but not a 93 tune with 87!

I have the Diablo InTune and run the 87 tow tune.....let's just say niiiiiccce! And.... they all pretty much say you can run higher octane with your tune. Obviously, you can't run a 91 or 93 tune on 87 pump gas.
