We are sorry to hear that your American Thunder Cat-back (#817725) did not live up to your expectations. Sound preferences are very personal, and everybody has different ideas of what may or may not be too loud. Flowmaster produces several different series of Cat-back exhaust systems for the 15-16 F-150s, ranging from aggressive to mild. If anybody would like help deciding on which Flowmaster Cat-back system will achieve the sound that they are looking for, give us a call at 707-544-4761.

Mike it's a great system, as I told you in my PM. Not knocking it at all, just want July to understand it DOES have very noticeable noise inside the cab. As you know I'm swapping out my muffler this weekend so I'll post an update to let you know what I think of the noise levels then. The American Thunder sounds like a beast though, and I'm sure the Outlaw is even more aggressive.

No problem at all. I just want to make people aware that we do offer a number of different sound level options, and that we're here to help on the forums or over the phone. We want to make sure that everybody gets the right exhaust system for their personal sound preferences. Keep me posted on the results of your swap.

July, the quickest and easiest way to receive an exhaust recommendation is to call our tech line at 707-544-4761. You can also shoot me a PM if you'd like.

Update: Swapped out the Super 40 for the 50 Series Delta... OMG what a difference. What's odd is when I pulled off the lot, the exhaust sounded the same/awesome... but NO highway drone. There is SLIGHT drone but it's about the same as off-road tires would sound on a highway. SO MUCH BETTER. Very happy with the 50. I still get that agressive sound WOT but at highway speeds you don't feel your teeth rattling. Very very happy

Anybody wanna buy my slightly used (1 week) Super 40. SODO (3" In, Dual 2.5" out)

Yeah I'd definitly think about it. Ask yourself this.

1) Do you want that aggressive sound (the answer i YES, duh)
2) Do you enjoy listening to music in the car (YES I assume)
3) Do you use your cell phone in the car (probably)
4) Do you like the sound of a jack hammer (maybe once or twice, but for an hour?)

If you answered No to #4, then look at maybe the 50 series.

As I said, the outlaw/american thunder kits will sound just AWESOME. But be prepared for a non-stop drone as you drive. Some people don't care. But I drive a lot. I like to enjoy my ride. If I was going a few miles each way, no problem. That's why I didn't care at first. 12 minute ride to work each way. But when I went on a 2 hour trip up state, wow, that drone was too much for me. It was not UNBEARABLE but with such a nice truck, comfortable, quiet... the drone was too much.

Now the 50 series... much much better. you still get that agressive sound.... I should have researched it ahead of time, but at least maybe you are learning before you make the purchase. Think about how far you drive and how much time is spent on the open road.

I'll post a video in a little bit of the sound outside. I'll try and do one inside, but I don't have a gopro mount for inside yet.
