Just installed it, very easy to do and the nutsert wasn't a problem. Hopefully I won't regret doing it this way and not going the "Raptor mod" route.

Is there a particular amount of time I should wait before exercising the tailgate to let the locktite dry/set properly? Or is this just good to go immediately? Seems it should sit for a bit. I only opened it once after install then closed the gate, and gonna wait a bit before trying it out again...

Tightened mine up yesterday and she's good as new. I'm sure it'll loosen up again but not a big deal, I'll just tighten it up again. I missed it for the 6 days I didn't have it. I had no idea how often I open my tailgate......

Got mine and insatled it, took about 15 mins to install. I think they did some modifications to the design, still has the nut-sert thought but thank God it did not give me trouble. Will see how it hold up.

Default Double-check your install, a wise thing to do!

Installed mine in Sept. Was very tight, didn't count but am certain I turned it more times than instructed. About 6weeks (tailgate open and close avg 1-2 times per day perhaps?) I took a peak at it and low and behold, the nutsert was almost totally out of the hole and the ball just about twisted off. I got lucky but worth a look at all of you like me who we're confident in your install. I check mine (quick peak) almost every time I open the gate. (Damn, I guess I like what it does, cause I'm making this device sounds like a p I t a.)

How did you go about getting the nut on? My tailgate has the pull out step and handle. I have been through 4-5 replacement nutsert's and I only use my tailgate once or twice a week.
