I am in Arkansas, nowhere near the rust belt.

So the question…

Is it feasible to go ahead with the 409 stainless and if I decide to try black tips then purchase them separately? Or can I get the stainless tips powder coated black? I’ve heard PCing stainless is kinda iffy. Note: the black system is more expensive than the 409SS.

TIA
I would advise the stainless. I've seen plenty of trucks with rusted chrome tips down here in coastal Texas. You should be able to have stainless powder coated though. Yeti's and RTIC's are stainless and are powdercoated all the time.

Default Flowmaster Outlaw

Hey guys this is my first post. New to the forum, i installed a flowmaster outlaw on my 16 5.0 and absolutely hate it. Way to loud and a brain shattering ammount of drone on the highway. I realize i should have done more research befor i purchased but whats done is done. Ive tried to sell it with no luck. Is there anything i can do to fix this problem so im not just flushing 1000 down the ****ter.

Let me know what you guys think,
Thanks.

Go to a muffler shop and talk to them about what you have and what you want. They should be able to just swap the short 10-series muffler for something more to your liking. Probably not more than $100 or so PLUS the price of a new muffler (around another $100)

A longer bodied one will usually reduce drone.

Hi guys, looking for some reviews. I'm looking at a Magnaflow 5x8 straight-through oval for my 2005 5.4L V8. Anyone have one on their truck? How's the idle sounding?

I'm new to the forum, but not to the wonderful world of owning an F150. I'm looking to do a few upgrades to my 2012 5.0L and the first mod on the list is the exhaust. I was looking at the Flowmaster 817707 Outlaw Extreme. The price is reasonable, has good reviews and I like the sound from the videos. But it's hard to tell just how loud it is from a Youtube video. I like the rumble but don't want something that is going to wake the neighbors up in the morning or worse, my wife. So does anyone have this on their truck, and if so is it obnoxiously loud?

I just cut my muffler off and went with a straight pipe. Sounds great and not too much drone when just cruising around. So glad I didn't spend $ on an aftermarket exhaust. If you're like me and just wanting a great sounding exhaust and don't need extra HP then a muffler delete is the way to go.

On my old 99 4.6 I had the shortest cherrybomb glasspack with it 45'd out in front of my tire with a 5 inch chrome tip it sounded absolutely incredible.

It had such an aggressive idle and if you went WOT people knew you were coming. It was a shame that the truck was so slow because it always sounded like I was flying when I stomped on it
